Leadership risk
Leadership risk is often concentrated on one person: the CEO.
But value creation rarely fails because of “one” individual.
A high-performing CEO can be slowed down by:
· a CFO optimizing for caution instead of speed
· a COO unable to scale complexity
· a CHRO unprepared for political pressure
· hidden tensions between functions no one addresses
Because leadership performance is interdependent.
The issue is not whether executives are individually talented.
What matters is whether:
· decision-making rhythms accelerate execution — or slow it down
· leadership behaviors reinforce trust — or dilute accountability
· executives operate from a shared strategic narrative — or competing agendas
· pressure strengthens cohesion — or reveals fragmentation
Because under pressure, organizations do not discover their culture.
They reveal it
In high-pressure environments, the real asset to evaluate is not only the CEO.
It is the leadership system itself.
The deals that create value are rarely the ones with the most impressive individuals.
They are the ones where leadership alignment has been intentionally engineered.
This is why team assessment should be considered a governance tool, not only an HR exercise.
We create value through people, for people.
