Leadership is a predictive system

Leadership is not a profile

Leadership is often evaluated as a profile.
Rochester evaluates it as a predictive system.
Most assessments focus on what is visible.
Experience.
Track record.
Communication.

But leadership effectiveness does not emerge from one dimension.
It emerges from the interaction of multiple behavioral layers:
how leaders think in complexity,
how they turn decisions into results,
how they navigate social systems,
how they behave under pressure,
how they are perceived,
and what they are likely to become in a different context.

Each of these dimensions answers a different question.
Only when they are read together, leadership becomes predictable.

This is what allows us to move beyond evaluation.
From identifying strong profiles
to selecting leaders with a high probability of success in a specific context
Because the real question is never:
Is this leader good?
It is:
Is this the right leader for what comes next?

When you evaluate leadership, do you look at:
What has been done
or
What is likely to happen next
